Tips for transportation accessibility and savings
A ski vacation can be marred by long waits, as kilometer-long queues often form at the lifts during the peak holiday season. As the expert notes, the peak tourist influx traditionally occurs during the New Year's period, with a brief lull observed towards the end of January. From early February, the rush resumes, and the type of vacationer also changes: those celebrating are replaced by experienced skiers. For those looking to avoid the crowds and save money, a visit in March or April is ideal—at this time, prices drop and the slopes are significantly less crowded.
The expert also revealed several secrets for a more comfortable and budget-friendly vacation. To avoid the morning crowds at the lower cable car stations, plan your skiing for the afternoon—after midday, the main flow of tourists has already spread out onto the slopes. Beginners are advised to consider the evening rate: at this time of day, there are fewer people, and the ski slopes retain their quality longer thanks to the cool night air, making training with an instructor or independent skiing especially productive. As for the financial side, it's more economical to rent equipment from rental shops near the resorts, and winter accommodations are cheapest on the coast. You can get to the slopes by shuttle from coastal hotels, car sharing, or public train.
How to get to Krasnaya Polyana
The most convenient way to reach the Rosa Khutor resort is via Adler Airport. A comfortable Lastochka commuter train, which runs daily between Sochi Airport and Rosa Khutor and Adler and Rosa Khutor, will take you directly from the airport or city. The journey takes no more than 45 minutes, and a free shuttle service is available from Rosa Khutor station to your hotel.
